Description
Seed
Early Eocene
Green River Formation
Kemmerer, Wyoming, USA
23mm seed on 47mm slab from the “split fish” layers.
Here is an unidentified seed from a locality famous for fishes from a lake long gone.
The Early Eocene was the warmest interval since the days of the dinosaurs. Tropical forest covered much of the continents. Even Antarctica was ice-free at the time. Climates would start to trend cooler a few million years later.
