49mm nautiloid. RARE.  Cephalopod

Eutrephoceras is a genus of nautiloid that lived across the whole Cretaceous Period and even survived past the K/T extinction.  It died out by the end of the Miocene.

The specimens from the Castle Hayne Formation are rather fragile and tend to be found in pieces.  Here’s one in great shape
