Early Devonian

Spectacular 61mm trilobite on 138mm slab. Incredible prep work.
Arthropod. Trilobite.
Heliopeltis is a trilobite known from the Devonian of Morocco. It stands out even among the most unusual Moroccan trilobites because of its super-long spines.
Of course, something so spiny is going to be difficult to find in excellent condition and a nice one would require a highly-skilled preparator to bring out every preserved detail. This one is exquisite – certainly a specimen for collectors of rare, weird trilobites.
