Seymouria is a genus of reptile-like amphibian of the Early Permian. It was so reptile-like that paleontologists considered it an early reptile when it was first studied. It was around that time that it was even considered a transitional form between the two groups. However, it lived at a time after reptiles had already appeared.
Fossils of this amphibian are uncommon.
