Plumulites is an extinct, armored worm of the Phylum Annelida – represented today by worms without armor like the earthworm and leech. Plumulites is a member of an extinct order, the Machaeridia which existed across much of the Paleozoic Era but died out during the end-Permian mass extinction along with 95% of all other organisms.
