General Information
We accept personal or company checks as well as money orders. We can also accept purchase orders. To recognized government, educational and corporate institutions terms are net 30 days. All other orders must be prepaid. Past due orders are charged interest at 1.5% per month. Note that personal checks may take 10 days to clear. All funds must be in US dollars. We can also take VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal. Credit Cards
We accept all major credit cards: VISA, Mastercard and American Express. PayPal is NOT required to use a credit card.
PayPal
We accept PayPal (www.paypal.com) as a form of payment. Please use our regular email address ([email protected]) as the recipient address.
BitCoin
As of March 2021 we can now accept BitCoin as payment. To use it you will need to contact us to make payment arrangements as our payment processing system does not yet accept it automatically. Be aware that since we incur fairly large fees for accepting it, we may have to include those fees in the total. Numerous articles suggest PayPal and other processors are planning to implement direct BitCoin transactions this year so I’m sure these complications will smooth out as wider acceptance becomes common. If you would like to use BitCoin, contact us for details.
Shipping
We use the US Postal Service to ship to all points worldwide. Minimum shipping charge is $5.00. Call about heavy items such as trackways and big bones as they will need special arrangements for shipping.
International Orders
We welcome orders from all countries worldwide. Payment can be made by International Postal Money Order, checks drawn on a US Bank in US Dollars, wire transfer or credit card. Wire transfers may incur a fee. We recommend against sending cash via the mails. We also accept Paypal (www.paypal.com) for all transactions. PayPal accepts several foreign currencies as well such as Euros and Pounds Sterling so conversion to US Dollars is not necessary! Use our regular email ([email protected]) for PayPal.
Returns
Any specimen can be returned within 10 days of receipt for a full refund of the purchase price. Tools, fossils or art must be returned in new condition and with all packaging. Shipping is not refundable. After 10 days we can accept returns for trade only and cannot give a cash refund. We make every attempt to properly identify all specimens. We are not responsible for typographic or design errors.
Trades
We welcome offers to trade specimens. Please take note of a few important details before you make an offer.
• Please offer items of at least equal value. No one would trade a broken Moroccan dinosaur tooth for a Tyrannosaurus rex tooth and neither would we. Your trade item should be something we can sell to someone else, for at least the same price as the item you wish to obtain from us.
• Once your offer has been accepted, we must receive your trade item before we will ship ours unless other arrangements have been made.
Holds
Because our previous policy was being abused, we will now only hold items for 24 hours. A longer hold of 7 calendar days is available if a 20%, non-refundable deposit is paid. All items are subject to prior sale until the deposit is received.
Layaways and Payment Over Time
We know that not everyone can spend a big sum for their favorite fossil all at once, so we like to make it easier for our customers to get the specimens they want without having to make one big payment. We will, on occasion, accept payment plans so that payments can be spaced over time. Any payment plans are subject to our approval and subject to these conditions:
• All payments must be made regularly, according to the schedule agreed upon, and on time.
• No specimen will be held for more than 10 days unless an agreed upon down payment has been made.
• No item will be shipped until final payment is made
• Payments that are over 10 days late or missed entirely may accrue a penalty of 5% of the total purchase price.
• Deposits and payments are not refundable. Failure to complete all payments as agreed will result in the loss of all money paid and the specimen will be returned to inventory.
Privacy
Our customer records and mailing lists are NEVER sold or revealed to any third parties, marketing firms or anyone else. No credit card numbers are ever stored on our servers.
Other Information
Just as any reasonable person would automatically expect, all our specimens come from legal and reputable sources, typically collected from private land with permission of the landowner.
Appraisals, Identification and Evaluations
We are experienced at evaluating and appraising collections and individual specimens and typically charge a price for the appraisal based on the size and complexity of the job. Full documentation for the basis and value estimates are provided. Feel free to contact us with your needs. Please DO NOT send emails asking for free estimates of the value of a specimen. We will not reply to emails of this sort.
