Description
Ranina americana
Upper Eocene
Hoko River Formation
Strait of Juan de Fuca, Washington, USA
Exquisite and extremely rare 140mm (5.5 inch) crab prepared (and even signed) by the famous preparator Gerald Kloc. Easily the most perfect and complete specimen of this unusual crab ever offered for sale. Every detail preserved. Highly detailed locality information is included so it could even be published.
Take a look at the plate from the original holotype description (Withers 1924). The holotype isn’t even close to as fine as this Gerald Kloc specimen. Probably one of the best crab specimens we have ever seen.
