certainly one of the biggest arthropods we have ever had. Email for shipping information, it is very heavy and will require special handling.

Dithyrocaris is a genus of phyllocarid, a subclass of crustaceans (Phyllocarida) known primarily from isolated carapaces. The fossils of this genus are found in the Devonian to Carboniferous of North America, Bolivia, and Scotland. Phyllocarids, as a group, date back to the Early Cambrian with one order still living today.

This one was completely unexpected. The average phyllocarid might be 2-3 inches long (5-8cm) but this one is TWO FEET LONG. The one scientific paper written about it cites it as the largest phyllocarid ever found. It’s way past gigantic. It’s ginormous! It’s phyllogantic!
