Very rare 7mm claw
Bird,
Bird claws are rather rare in the fossil record. You can find them in the Pleistocene tar pits of California but they aren’t common there either and you might be going back only 35 thousand years. This claw is about 35-40 million years old which is about as old as most bird fossils get on the market. You hardly ever see Paleocene bird fossils of any kind and Cretaceous bones/claws tend to be small and even harder to find.
