Description
Nanosaurus (Othnielia)
Late Jurassic (Tithonian)
Morrison Formation
Bone Cabin Quarry
Albany County, WY, USA
Tiny 2.5mm tooth. RARE
Dinosaur, Other Ornithischian.
Isolated teeth of many animals such as dinosaurs can be difficult to identify to genus or family because those of a few closely-related taxa may be virtually indistinguishable. This small ornithischian from the Morrison has been described under at least five different names since being discovered in 1877, Nanosaurus being the most recently accepted one. This specimen was collected in the legendary Bone Cabin Quarry.
