Mastixia is a plant genus that most scientists have placed in the Family Cornaceae, which includes dogwoods and a mixed group of deciduous and evergreen trees as well as some perennial herbs. All that mixed together does not sound like a great salad.
Specimens of this form are known from the Miocene to Recent.
