Aspidorhynchus is an extinct genus of ray-finned fish that lived during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, approximately 165 to 100 million years ago. This genus is part of the family Aspidorhynchidae and is known for its streamlined body and long, pointed snout, making it a highly specialized predator in its time.
Aspidorhynchus fossils are sometimes found in association with the famous pterosaur Pterodactylus and other Solnhofen fauna, offering a snapshot of life in Jurassic marine and coastal ecosystems.
