Description
Cretaceous
Vicinity of Maingkwan, north of Mogaunga, Myanmar (Burma)
4mm angiosperm flower in 24mm Burmite. Beautiful specimen.
Flower, Angiosperm. Association
When available, fossil flowers usually come from the Eocene to Miocene of the United States (Green River stuff, John Day, Republic, WA). What you hardly ever see are flowers from closer to their first appearance in the Early Cretaceous. Here is one of those special beauties caught in a whirl of other plant matter.
