Liaoningocladus is a genus of conifer that lived during the Early Cretaceous in northeastern China. So far, it appears this plant is known only from that time and place. Some specimens show signs of insect galls (swelling of the plant tissue caused by feeding or burrowing).
Beautiful, well-preserved conifer specimen on matrix. A fantastic piece if you’re missing something from the Early Cretaceous in your collection.
