Description
Pterosaur
Lower Cretaceous
Tegana Formation
Kem Kem Region, Morocco
270mm.
Pterosaur bones are rare fossils because they were thin-walled in life like bird bones. They tend to be found crushed but some deposits preserve them well enough for confident identification at least to order. Their diversity in the Kem Kem beds is still a mystery because only isolated bones and teeth have been found so far and few studies have been published.
Here’s a mid-section of a thin-walled bone.
