Worm,
Plumulites is a genus of extinct, armored worm of the Phylum Annelida. It is known from the Ordovician to at least the Devonian of various parts of the world (Canada, Australia, and Morocco). It is almost always found as a partial specimen so collectors look for a near-complete one like this one.
It would seem that all worms belong to the same group, but across geologic time, they have been too diverse for that . Scientists have recognized that some of them have separate ancestries so some are only quite distantly related.
