Pollingeria is a genus of animal unassigned to a family, class, nor phyllum. It’s been called a “short worm” as a nickname – perhaps related to annelids. It seems to occur in small clusters.
Paleontologists have created a catch-all category called “problematica” for creatures represented by remains insufficient for assignment to a particular taxon – little more than phantoms from the very edge of scientific understanding.
