Acastella is a trilobite genus that lived during the Silurian Period and survived into the Devonian. It is known from Europe and New Zealand but is uncommon wherever it occurs.
This one has a nice cephalon. It seems like most of the specimens we’ve seen lost their heads at stressful times.
